Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger. The treatment is based on the principles of Oriental Medicine and involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into particular areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, trunk, and legs along channels or meridians of energy called Qi.

Facial Acupuncture offers a safe and effective treatment to rejuvenate the face by diminishing wrinkles, decreasing bags under the eyes and puffiness, firms facial muscles and tightens the skin. It stimulates collagen production and increases local blood and lymph circulation; increases the blood and energy flow to specific facial areas to hydrate, plump up and boost the supply of nutrients and oxygen to them. Increased blood circulation to the face moistens the skin and promotes collage production for increased muscle tone and elasticity. From a Western medicine perspective, it is thought that the needling creates production of
more collagen and elastin in the face.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture may erase years from the face, with results apparent after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Other likely results include: moisturizing of the skin, muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores; brightening of the eyes; improving of the hormonal balance, reduction of the stress evident in the face bringing out the innate beauty, radiance and glow of an individual.

A study in The Journal of Clinical Acupuncture shares that, with cosmetic acupuncture, 90% of clients have marked improvement in their faces and experience an overall rejuvenation that is not confined to the face.

Cosmetic acupuncture is an excellent alternative to surgery. It is less costly and very safe. For the best results, it is recommended that you start with 12-15 bi weekly treatments followed by monthly maintenance treatments. Fine needles are placed at a variety of acupuncture points on the face, neck and body to stimulate the body's natural energies and to strengthen the patient's general constitution.

How many treatments?

After an initial session, the practitioner evaluates the patient's response and then can determine the number of follow-up visits that will be required. Taking into account other variables such as stress, diet, lifestyle, genetic inheritance, proper digestion and elimination, sleep, emotional balance, and age; the following duration of treatment are recommended: Usually 12-15 treatments; 20 treatments for smokers or people whose skin tends to sag, i.e., who manifest jowls, "turkey wattles", droopy eyes, etc.
The frequency for Facial Acupuncture Treatment is once or twice a week for one hour.

Maintenance Treatment

Within the normal parameters of aging, the completion of a series of treatments should be effective.
To ensure the persistence of the results, ongoing maintenance treatments are recommended:
Every 2 weeks for 2 months following the completion of a treatment series, then once a month for an indefinite
